Fiber Optics
Definition:Fiber optics is a cable infrastructure technology that uses thin glass or plastic threads to send data as light pulses. It replaces traditional copper wires. This method allows for very fast data transfer of large data packets over long distances with minimal signal loss from reach or electrical interference.
Current Challenges
Copper infrastructure has both bandwidth and physical limitations. As data demand grows, duct space becomes crowded and - in environments with increasing electrical machinery - copper simply can’t ignore the interference that can create. It’s common knowledge that moving your infrastructure to fiber will solve most of these issues and adds a safety factor. But, the transition and the possible disruptions it can bring seem daunting.
Urgency
Every year legacy cabling remains; it adds a layer of technical deficit and, in some facilities, real safety concerns. Fiber's advantages — more capacity in less space, immunity to electrical noise, and non-conductive construction for high-voltage areas — only compound the value you will gain once the conversion is completed.
Solution
For decades, A/Coe technicians have designed and implemented complete fiber optic infrastructure. From single mode 9/125 and multi mode 62.5/125 and 50/125, with SC, ST, and MT-RJ connections, rated for indoor, outdoor, and direct burial applications. We handle fiber innerduct, fiber panels, wall-mount and free-standing racks, cable trays and raceways, and complete testing and certification — a single accountable partner from working with you to create the design that works best - all the way through to commissioning.
Next Steps
A/Coe Communications will begin by listening to assess your real needs. From there, a fiber route and pathway design will be custom fit to your facility. Then we execute anything from a phased rollout to a full-building deployment to keep your company’s data safe, reliable, robust and future ready. Contact us to map out that transition today!
